A large portion of this class is learning all applicable laws which pertain to both the driver and passenger. The first half of the course will cover mostly in classroom work and exams. You must attend all classes and pass all exams with an 80% or higher to qualify for the final exam which will grant you your license. The second half of the course is dedicated to field study. You will go out into the field with your instructor and fellow classmates to learn the hard principles of being on the road. You will encounter “test” passengers which will put you in a variety of situations. Once all of these exercises are completed you are then eligible to take the written and road Taxi Driver Exam. Once you have passed your exam, you may then apply for your own medallion if you intend to work for yourself.
